David Myers

David Myers

Chief Administrative Officer

David comes to VTS with 12 years experience working in higher education. Originally from Kansas City, he achieved his Master’s Degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his role as Chief Administrative Officer he oversees the daily operation of VTS and assures that the mission and vision of the school is carried out. Outside of VTS, David stays busy volunteering at his church, reading, enjoying anything sports-related, traveling and cooking.

Becca Brotherton

Director of Marketing and Social Enterprise

Becca received a Bachelors degree from Southwest Baptist University in Marketing/Business Administration.  After college she went to work at an International Boarding School in South Korea for six years.  She worked with students from around the globe in a residential setting as well as a school setting.  She has always had a heart for missions, whether that be overseas or in the States and uses every opportunity to take part in ministry operations. Becca is a member of River Bluff Fellowship where she serves as the Head of the Missions and Evangelism Team and also works with the elementary-age children in the Children’s Ministry. Kyle Kearbey

Dean of Admissions & Students

Kyle serves as Victory Trade School’s Dean of Students. Prior to his current post, Kyle oversaw VTS’ biblical studies and discipleship program. Kyle’s undergraduate studies gained him a degree in Criminology from Drury University. Additionally, he focused his studies in the areas of theology, New Testament and world religions. Currently he is taking online courses at London Reformed Baptist Seminary. Kyle has been involved in ministry for a number of years and he currently serves as the Pastor of a Southern Baptist Church, just North of Springfield. He thoroughly enjoys a good game ping pong, and grilling on the weekends! Kyle is married to his beautiful wife Katie and father to his precious little girl Elaina, and son Graham.

Niki Mueller

Education Coordinator/Registrar

Niki serves as VTS’s Education Coordinator. Niki received her Bachelors from Chaminade University of Honolulu (BA 1997) and went back and achieved her Masters degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Missouri state University (MS2012). Niki oversees all curriculums and assessments in the Culinary Arts department . She is also in charge of the VTS Library and the Candidacy program. Niki attends E. Sunshine Church of Christ and has 3 children who keep her very busy when not working. Niki loves working to make VTS better, and to help its’ students become success stories. Rhonda Boram

Dean of Culinary Arts

As VTS Dean of Culinary Arts, Chef Rhonda brings to the table over twenty years of experience in the culinary industry! She completed her culinary education at Aims Academy in Dallas, TX from 1999-2000 and she is a member of the Springfield/Branson chapter of the American Culinary Federation. If there is anything Rhonda knows how to do, it is run a restaurant. She owned and operated “A Taste of Thyme,” a successful bistro café for six years in Horseshoe Bay, TX. Since relocating to the Ozarks, she has served at two prestigious establishments – Big Cedar Lodge inBranson, MO as Baker & Garde Manger Chef, and most recently she served as a Baker at Bass ProConference Center in Springfield, MO. Rhonda came to VTS to fulfill her life-long dream to teach her passion– food! As Dean of Culinary Arts, she is working with her team to develop a new style and flavor for Cook’s Kettle – as well as, to strengthen and expand curriculum so students will graduate with a solid understanding of what it takes to succeed in the culinary industry.

Nick Metz

Sous Chef Instructor

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Nick moved to Branson as a kid and grew up with a love for the hospitality industry. He recently medically retired after four years of military service and moved to Springfield to be closer to his nine year old son. Nick has worked with numerous chefs to open new restaurants and he brings to the table years of Back-of-the-House experience from a variety of restaurants including IHOP, Celebration City and Starbuck’s. One day, he hopes to open and operate his own café – but only after he runs a food truck. He has a passion for loving people. He enjoys serving people and his goal is to instill a servant’s heart in each VTS student. He also hopes to raise service standards while increasing the element of professionalism in his students.

Lou Rice MA, CCC, CHE

Sous Chef Instructor

Lou comes to VTS with over 30 years in the hospitality business and with experience in restaurant ownership, private and country club work, family style dining and high end catering. He holds a Master’s Degree in Consumer Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and an Associates in Hospitality Administration. He has developed programs and wrote curriculum for culinary and hospitality arts programs at 3 different colleges. Lou is a published cookbook author and contributor to a number of lifestyle regional magazines. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation where he is a Certified Chef De Cuisine. He is a Certified Hospitality Educator with the American Hotel and Lodging Association and is a Certified Instructor and Proctor for ServSafe. He and his wife, Stacy, live in Springfield with their 3 fur kids.

Marty Lowry, CCC

Sous Chef Instructor

Chef Marty Lowry is a Springfield native, and brings over 20 years in hospitality to VTS with him. His background includes a variety of restaurant experience, from fast casual to upscale dinner houses and country clubs. Chef Marty has also worked in non-traditional chef arenas, and is excited to teach in the VTS classrooms. Chef Marty has been an active member of the Springfield/Branson Chefs’ Association for 10 years, and has held offices on their board of directors. He is also a Certified Chef de Cuisine with the American Culinary Federation, and a 2007 graduate of OTC with an AAS in Culinary Arts. Outside of his work life, Chef Marty is the proud father of Haley and Cole, and enjoys spending his free time in the great outdoors.

Ron Steward

Instructor

Ron comes to us with 23 years in insurance claims services with four years in supervision. He currently does customer service and business consulting. He is originally from Nevada, Missouri and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Missouri Southern State University. Ron and his wife, Kristen, are the parents of four grown children. Ron volunteers in his church, teaches Bible study at Victory Square and enjoys fishing and spoiling his grandchildren. He also spent 23 years in the volunteer fire service, ending his service as chief of a rural fire department in west-central Missouri.
